<b>Martin Holub Architects and Planners</b> was established in 1971. Ever
since, the firm has functioned in two roles: <br><br>
As <b>Architects</b>, the firm provides complete architectural, planning
and interior design services to individual, corporate, public and
institutional clients. It is responsible for all phases of the
project including programming, design, construction documents, and
construction support services. <br><br>
As <b>Design Consultants</b>, the firm is retained by other architectural
or engineering offices, on an individual project basis, solely to
develop the design of the project. <br><br>
It is quite rare for architectural firms to seek outside design
expertise - yet, the large number of distinguished offices that have
retained Martin Holub Architects and Planners to take advantage of
Holub's design talent speaks for itself and has earned him the
reputation of "Architects' Architect" <br><br>
The firm's work is marked by its diversity - in scale, type of
structure, type of client, geographic location. This is no accident.
It is a result of Holub's belief that an architect needs this kind
of diversity, that is, continuous involvement in a wide range of
design tasks, to maintain and improve his design sensitivity. He
further believes that this sensitivity - defined as the ability to
recognize and respond to the specific characteristics of each
individual commission - is the best service an architect can offer a
client. <br><br>
Martin Holub Architects and Planners has expanded beyond its home base
in New York City on several occasions. <br><br>
Between 1975 and 1979, the firm maintained a branch office in
Tehran, Iran where it designed a number of residential, commercial,
educational and health facilities <a href="iran.htm">projects in the Middle East</a>. <br><br>
In 1990, after the fall of communism in Holub's native Czech
Republic, the firm established a subsidiary ARA-Praha/New York.
Based in Prague, it provides local support for projects designed by
Martin Holub Architects and Planners for multinational clients needing
<a href="czech.htm">facilities in the Czech Republic</a>.<br><br>
In 1998, Martin Holub Architects and Planners opened a <a href="contact.htm">branch office</a>
in rural Dutchess County, New York, to serve a range of <a href="projects.htm">residential
and small business clients in the area</a>.
